The
ceramics of the Group
Vitrified stoneware
The production of the Ceramiche Ricchetti
Group is focused on vitrified stoneware destined prevalently
for paving, internal and external, in the public and private
building sector. The raw materials (clay and quality
feldspar), subjected to a process of extremely high baking
temperatures, are transformed into vitrified stoneware with
anti-freeze characteristics, resistance to impact, scratches
and chemical attacks that paving in public places are
generally exposed to. The vitrified stoneware is divided into
two types: natural vitrified, more commonly known as vitrified
stoneware, and enamel vitrified.
Single and
double-firing
The single-fired tile is produced by
means of just one thermal treatment in which occurs, at the
same time as the baking, the stabilization of the enamel; for
its technical characteristics the single-firing can be
utilized either for floor or wall tiling.
The double-fired tile is produced by
means of a process involving two phases: in the first the
support baking is performed, while the second involves the
thermal treatment for the stabilization of the enamel. The
double-firing is destined exclusively for wall tiling. The
single-fired and double-fired obtained in the Italian
factories, of both red and white body stoneware, are destined
almost exclusively for the residential market, prevalently for
internal use.
Klinker
This
is a typical product of North European countries and
represents a little over 5% of the entire production of the
Ceramiche Ricchetti Group. The characteristics of this product
are its consistency, thickness and resistance which, combined
with its technical quality, renders clinker particularly
practical for external use. The production phase is
characterized by the process of extrusion, which in clinker
substitutes the traditional pressing. In fact due to its
natural peculiarities, generally clinker is not subject to any
enameling treatment.
